The North West Ambulance Service Branch of UNISON was formed as a result of the merger of the four ambulance trusts in the Northwest. The former branches of Greater Manchester Ambulance Service, Lancashire Ambulance Service, Mersey Regional Ambulance Service and Cumbria Ambulance Service. They came together to form one united UNISON Branch, one which is made up of Ambulance Staff and Support Services, all 100% employed by the North West Ambulance Service.
NWAS UNISON is an ambulance only union, run by NWAS employees for NWAS employees which has in excess of 2000 members.
The formation of the new North West Branch of UNISON creates one of the biggest ambulance branches outside of London which in itself gives us the strength of numbers and the best possible representation for our members in the form of recognition within the new organisation. Your issues are our issues, whatever affects you affects us so you can rest assured knowing that we will continue to act in such a way to ensure we get the best possible deal available for our members.
