The dates for our 2010 Annual General Meetings have now been announced. Every year we hold one in each of the three geographical areas of the service – Greater Manchester, Cumbria & Lancashire, and Merseyside & Cheshire.
Every member can attend the AGM, take part in discussions and vote on policy. It is an important date in the branch calendar when you can shape the direction of the branch and it’s work, raise any questions you may have with branch officials and discuss the challenges that lie ahead, as well as assessing our successes and failures. We are a democratic, member led union and our AGMs are a testament to that – after all, you are the union.
The AGM is also where we nominate and elect stewards, health and safety representatives and branch officers for the coming year – so, if you have considered becoming more active in the union, the AGM is a great place to start!
